My name is Joe Gedds (anglicization of José Guedes) and I am a Brazilian linguist, customer support specialist and web developer with a strong passion for technology and communication. The more than ten years of experience I have accrued across multiple industries equipped me with a powerful and versatile skill set that enables me to build simple and effective solutions for hard-to-tackle problems.

I began my career in the early 2010s as a full-time professional translator. Gradually, I became more closely involved with translation agencies and eventually made the natural transition to full-time project and community management. This proved to be a great opportunity to unite my passion for programming and optimization with my expertise in linguistics and communication.

As a project and community manager, I focused on enhancing workflows, streamlining processes and implementing novel solutions to improve work efficiency and customer experience. My technical skills, coupled with a solid understanding of user needs, enabled me to effectively lead teams and drive continuous improvement in customer support operations.

The significant changes in the translation sector caused by advances in machine translation eventually made me realize that a change in industries was in order. At Strikingly, my current place of employment, I have the privilege of bringing my love of communication together with my enthusiasm for web development while making impactful contributions to the company and its clients.
